3D Areola Tattoo Training by Licensed Specialists

This advanced, hands-on specialty course is open to anyone interested in learning 3D areola tattooing — no prior tattoo or permanent makeup experience is required.
Over two days, you will learn the color theory, shading, and application technique used to recreate a natural, dimensional-looking areola and nipple using only pigment on flat skin — then practice the full procedure, first on practice surfaces and then on a live model alongside your trainer.

What Is a 3D Areola Tattoo?

A 3D areola tattoo uses light and shadow to give a completely flat surface the appearance of natural, lifelike dimension — the illusion is created entirely with pigment, shading, and highlight placement on skin that is completely flat.

This advanced technique is most often used to restore the areola after mastectomy or breast reconstruction surgery, to correct scarring or asymmetry, or to restore pigment that has been lost to surgery or a medical condition.

This course is open to anyone interested in learning 3D areola tattooing — whether you're a licensed tattoo artist adding to your service menu or just getting started.

2-Day Curriculum

Day 1 — Theory & 2D Practice

On day one, the trainer will cover the theory behind 3D areola tattooing and get you comfortable applying it on a flat practice surface, including:

3D areola tattoo theory: anatomy, proportion, and candidacy.
Color theory and pigment selection for realistic skin-tone matching.
Post-surgical skin and scar tissue considerations.
Shading and highlight technique used to build a convincing 3D illusion.
Machine setup and needle configuration for shading and realism work.
Client consultation, consent, and aftercare paperwork.
Full hands-on practice drawing and shading on 2D practice skins.

Day 2 — 3D Practice Models & Live Model Procedure

Day two moves from flat practice to dimensional, real-world application:

Morning: Hands-on practice on 3D practice models, applying color and shading to a dimensional surface for the first time.
Afternoon: A live model is brought in. The trainer and student work together to perform the 3D areola tattoo technique on the model, with the trainer guiding your placement, color, and shading in real time.

3D Areola Tattoo Training Policies

As we offer both group and one-on-one training, please contact us to discuss one-on-one availability and pricing for this course.
Please keep in mind that a lot of planning and scheduling goes into place. We prepare the booklets and the kit for every student who attends. For this purpose, we require a deposit to reserve your seat when you schedule the class — contact us for current deposit amounts and available payment plans.

Prerequisite Policy

Anyone can take this training. If you do not have an active Tattoo Artist License yet, we will help you plan the bloodborne pathogen course and licensing paperwork first.

Scheduling Policy

A deposit is collected to reserve your seat when you make the appointment online or over the phone.
The scheduling deposit is non-refundable.
The rest of the training fee is due one week before the class. Students will not be allowed to take the class until the full fee is paid.

No Show Policy

Z Beauty Academy & Spa is not responsible for returning any fee if a student fails to attend the class or inform us at least 48 hours in advance to make necessary arrangements.

Rescheduling Policy

Unless the student gives 48 hours' notice, all the fee paid by the student is non-refundable. In case a student has to reschedule the class, they need to give at least 48 hours' notice to Z Beauty Academy & Spa, and we will happily reschedule the class free of charge.

Cancelled Class

Sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances, Z Beauty Academy & Spa might have to cancel or reschedule a class. If for any reason we cancel the class, the students will be refunded 100% of the fee. If we have to reschedule, Z Beauty Academy & Spa will give students the option to either receive the 100% refund or to reschedule the class for free.

Non-Refundable Policy

All the services provided by Z Beauty Academy & Spa are non-refundable. This includes the training and the kit provided during the training.

Advanced Training / Live Model Policy

Florida Law prohibits students from performing any tattoo procedure on a live model until they get their Tattoo Artist License.

If you need to get licensed first, we will walk you through the course completion certificate, blood pathogen certificate, and the paperwork to submit to the Florida Department of Health. Once the Department of Health issues you the Tattoo License, we will schedule your 3D Areola Tattoo Training.
